The Goodnight Scholars Program at NC State University revealed 180 finalists who will participate in the Program’s Annual Finalist Interview Day. This marks our largest group of finalists yet as we expand the Goodnight Scholars Program.
From the Finalist Interview Day, 100 students will be invited to join the Goodnight Scholars Program’s Class of 2029.
“The growth of our program provides an incredible opportunity to support and inspire more students as they reach their full potential,” says Jill Zalewski, Director of the Goodnight Scholars Program. “The finalist weekend also gives us a chance to get to know these talented students better, learning about their passions, aspirations, and the impact they will undoubtedly have on our communities and beyond.”
The 180 finalists were selected from a pool of candidates from across North Carolina and represent 130 high schools, 59 counties, and six NC State academic colleges. Finalist applications were reviewed by a volunteer committee consisting of current and former NC State faculty, staff, and alumni, as well as industry representatives from SAS Institute and the Kenan Fellows Program. Each finalist demonstrated exceptional high school accomplishments including outstanding academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, community engagement, and an affinity for STEM and education.
