Goodnight Scholars Program Select Finalist for Class of 2026

The Goodnight Scholars Program at NC State University revealed 101 finalists who will participate in the Program’s 8th Annual Finalist Interview Day. The program is thrilled to share that the event will be held in-person for the first time in two years.

From the Finalist Interview Day, 50 students will be invited to join the Goodnight Scholars Program’s Class of 2026.

“After a two-year hiatus we’re so excited to welcome our finalists to campus again,” said Allison Medlin, executive director of the Goodnight Scholars Program. “This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know these outstanding students better, and to showcase what makes our community and university so special.”

The 101 finalists were selected from a pool of candidates from across North Carolina and represent 77 high schools, 49 counties, and six NC State academic colleges. Finalist applications were reviewed by a volunteer committee consisting of current and former NC State faculty, staff, and alumni, as well as industry representatives from SAS Institute and the Kenan Fellows Program. Each finalist demonstrated exceptional high school accomplishments including outstanding academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, community engagement, and an affinity for STEM and education.
